At St. Charles Monuments of Long Island, New York, we’re dedicated to helping you every step of the way. We understand this can be a difficult time and do our best to make the process as simple as possible. We’ve created a list of the most commonly asked questions when purchasing a headstone.

How long is the process to create a memorial?

The time frame will vary for each family depending on rules and regulations of the cemetery. With everyone doing their due diligence, the process is usually only 2 months. Revisions made to the sketch will delay this time frame. However, depending on which cemetery the monument is for, it may be sooner. The majority of families we’ve created monuments for are completed within two weeks, after receiving the cemetery’s approval.

What information do I need in order to place my order?

In order to get started, all we need is the cemetery your loved one is buried in, as well as their name and date they passed. This information will help us guide you the rest of the way. No appointment is necessary St. Charles Memorials and Monuments is open 7 days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What happens if I need to make a change to my order?

Changes are permitted, if you need to make a change please contact us immediately. Additional fees may be required depending on what needs to be changed. The cost of fees will depend on what has to be changed and if the headstone is completed or not.

Do flat granite headstones include a base?

No, flat headstones don’t include a base and are not required.

Will I see the layout of the headstone before it’s produced?

Yes, we provide all of our clients with a detailed final layout prior to producing the memorial. The layout will include the design, lettering, symbols, size and any other important factors you’ve requested. We invite all families back to the showroom to approve the monument before it’s set in the cemetery. Approval is required before being installed, if you are unable to approve the final layout in person we can mail/email you a copy.

Will you install the headstone in the cemetery?

Yes, we can install your headstone in the cemetery, the installation is included with your purchase.

Do you offer discounts when ordering multiple headstones?
